Town Water/Maintenance Operator

Job Posting:     Town Water and Maintenance Operator

The Town of Clyde Park, a small and growing community, is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Water Operator/ Maintenance Operator. This is a combined position to ensure a full time position.

 

Water Operator

- involves ensuring the quality of the town’s water system. Training provided, and the selected candidate must be willing to obtain a Water Operator Certificate. If you’re ready to contribute to the smooth operation of our town’s water system, we encourage you to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

New Water Hook-ups:

- Review and consult on new water service applications

- Schedule installation of new curb stops and meters

- Oversee contractors for water line installations

- Coordinate invoicing with Admin for installations

- Notify customers when work is complete and contracts can be issued

Water Customer Maintenance:

- Turn on/off water service in coordination with Admin

- Issue water shut-off notices to delinquent customers

- Read water meters monthly

- Schedule and perform maintenance/repairs on water leaks, curb stops, and meters

Treatment Plant, Wells, Reservoir, Spring Boxes, and Water Line System Maintenance:

- Monitor and maintain chlorine treatment and supplies

- Coordinate water testing with DEQ and lab

- Monitor reservoir levels and water system flow

- Provide maintenance/repairs on system components

- Respond to system monitoring alarms

- Assist with the GPS mapping project and town water system improvements

- Flush wells bi-weekly and hydrants monthly

Additional Duties:

- coordinate and assist the Mayor with projects as needed.

- Attend Town Council meetings as needed

 

Requirements:

- Willingness to train and obtain a Water Operator Certificate

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work with others

- Have a high school diploma, GED

 

Maintenance Operator

-assist with a variety of maintenance tasks. This role involves maintaining public spaces, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and responding to community needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Mowing & Weed Control: Assist with maintaining town properties, including parks, roadsides, and public buildings.

Snow Clearing: Assist with plowing and shoveling town streets, sidewalks, and public areas (seasonal).

Park Maintenance: Ensure the park is well-kept by raking leaves, emptying garbage cans, sweeping the pavilion, Maintaining playground equipment and furniture, and refilling dog bag dispensers.

Roads: Patch holes, maintain road surfaces, install signage, and provide general road maintenance as needed.

Animal Control: Address dog complaints and work with Fish & Game on wild animal issues.

Equipment Maintenance: Oversee and schedule repairs for town equipment.

Site Permits: Review permit applications and ensure compliance with setback regulations.

Enforcement: Serve notices for ordinance violations and delinquent accounts.

General Support: Assist with additional tasks assigned by the Mayor and provide monthly reports for Town Council meetings.

Preferences:

- Previous experience in maintenance or related fields

- Ability to operate and maintain light equipment

- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

- Strong communication skills for interacting with town residents and officials

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Pay: $20 - $25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
